President Trump has had a contentious relationship with the press since the beginning of his term. In particular, he has frequently clashed with certain reporters whom he has accused of spreading misinformation and outright lies. Many of his supporters believe that he should continue to take a hard stance against dishonest media coverage by banning such reporters from White House events.
