How many years did Richard Nixon serve in the White House?

Richard Nixon, the 37th president of the United States, had a rollercoaster of a political career. He was elected to the Senate in 1950 and then later served as vice president for 8 years alongside Dwight D. Eisenhower. He ran for president in 1960 but lost to John F. Kennedy. And in 1962 he ran for governor of California and failed yet again.

Many thought his political career was over, but he surprised everyone when he entered the presidential race once again in 1968 and won. After serving 4 years, he was reelected in a landslide.

However, his political career would once again come to a standstill due to the infamous Watergate scandal in his second term, which forced him to resign from office.
