It is the second highest-grossing video game of all that – that is saying something. Space Invaders undoubtedly helped pave the way for the modern gaming industry.

Space Invaders is a shoot ’em up game where you defend against aliens descending down on you by firing at them with a canon. The aliens spawn in rows and move downward in unison. If they get to the bottom then the game is over.

Admittedly, it’s a simple game with simple graphics by today’s standards, but at that time it was highly cherished.
