In what year was bubble wrap invented?
Did you know that bubble wrap was invented by accident? In 1957, two inventors by the name of Alfred Fielding and Marc Chavannes were trying to create a 3-dimensional plastic wallpaper. They soon realized that what they have made would be horrible as wallpaper.
However, that was not the end of bubble wrap. A marketer at Sealed Air, a company co-founded by Fielding, discovered that bubble wrap is excellent as a packing material. And so it was used to package IBM computers for shipping. Soon it became a highly used packing material all over the world.
