In the 60s, Batman was adapted into a TV series for the first time. The show aired on ABC from January 12, 1966, to March 14, 1968. It starred Adam West as Batman/Bruce Wayne and Burt Ward as Robin/Dick Grayson. The crime fighting duo would face a variety of villains as they protect Gotham city.
The show saw some notable guest appearances, such as the cross-over with The Green Hornet which saw guest stars Van Williams and Bruce Lee appear on the show. Many others such as Frank Sinatra wanted to appear on the show, but the producers could not find suitable roles to make it happen.
