Freddie Mercury was born in which country?
Rock sensation Freddie Mercury was born in Zanzibar in 1946. His birth name is Farrokh Bulsara. Born to Parsi-Indian parents, he was sent to study in a boarding school in India at the age of eight. He returned to Zanzibar after finishing secondary school. He and his family had to flee from the country due to the Zanzibar Revolution in 1964. They moved to Middlesex, England.
After joining a number of small bands in England, he formed Queen in 1970 in collaboration with guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor. Mercury would go on to become an internationally acclaimed rock singer after this.
