Which martial arts discipline was founded by Bruce Lee?
Bruce Lee is considered by many to be the biggest martial artist of all time. He was also a movie star and a renowned pop icon of the 20th century. He had a heavy hand in popularizing martial arts on the big screen as well as in real life.
After learning Wing Chun from master Yip Man at an early age, Lee founded his own martial arts style called Jeet Kune Do. Translated as “Way of the Intercepting Fist,” Jeet Kune Do is derived from various martial arts philosophies. Bruce Lee wanted a technique that is effective in combat, rather than be rigidly about style. Thus, Jeet Kune Do was born.
