In which year did the AFL win its first Super Bowl?
The Super Bowl is an event all sports fans look forward to. It is a game of league vs league, champion vs champion. While the NFL and the AFL competed outside the field before, following the merger in 1966 they would compete on the field.
Going into the first Super Bowl, the Green Bay Packers of the NFL won by a comfortable margin. This was predicted by sports analysts who held that the NFL is a superior league to the AFL. Indeed, the Green Bay Packers would win the next Super Bowl too. However, the 3rd Super Bowl changed this idea completely, with the New York Jets of the AFL emerging victorious over the Baltimore Colts of the NFL.
