Jackie Robinson helped win his team the World Series how many times?
Jackie Robinson is regarded as the first influential Black player to play in Major League Baseball. He debuted in the major league in 1947, at a time of racial segregation and prejudice against African-Americans. His draft into Brooklyn Dodgers signaled the end of racial segregation in professional baseball. He helped the Brooklyn Dodgers win the World Series in 1955.
Even though he was the first Black professional baseball player to get widespread recognition, he was not the actual first to play in MLB. That honor goes to Moses “Fleet” Fleetwood Walker, who played for Toledo Blue Stockings in 1884.
