Sean Connery was the first face of James Bond seen by the audience after he debuted in the first Bond film Dr.No. Despite his successes playing the secret service agent, Connery resented the fact that he, as an actor, was solely identified as James Bond, so he decided to retire after playing the role in the movie You Only Live Twice.
