What does the VHS format stand for?
In the 70s and 80s, VHS was not the only format for video magnetic tapes. It saw some stiff competition from another format called Betamax. By the 80s, VHS gained dominance as the home video format.
The invention of the DVD saw VHS become obsolete eventually. Still, it holds a special place in the hearts of those who grew up with these magnetic tape cassettes.
