Who won the first Super Bowl?

There was a bitter rivalry between the two professional football leagues in the 60s. On one side there was the well-established NFL, while on the other there was the newcomer AFL which posed a serious challenge to the latter. Instead of trying to undercut each other, both leagues agreed to a merger in 1966. Thus, the Super Bowl was born, a game where the NFL champion faces the AFL champion.

The first such game, Super Bowl I, was played between Green Bay Packers (NFL) and Kansas City Chiefs (AFL). Despite the merger, there was still considerable animosity between the two leagues going into the game. The Green Bay Packers defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 35-10. The result was predicted by sports pundits, who claimed that the NFL was the superior league. However, this notion was promptly challenged later on as history will show.
