In which venue did the Beatles perform their first ever live public concert in the US?
The Beatles made their concert debut in the US on February 11, 1964, at the Washington Coliseum (Also known as the Uline Arena) in Washington DC. This was about 48 hours after their first appearance at the Ed Sullivan show. The Coliseum’s owner, Harry Lynn had never heard of the Beatles before then; and didn’t expect many people to attend because of an ongoing snowstorm. But the group performed to a sold out crowd of about 8092 people, with a set of 12 songs that lasted approximately 40 minutes.
