The Tamagotchi is a handheld digital pet out of Japan that became a toy craze in the late 1990s. It was released in Japan on November 23, 1996. More than 83 million units have been sold to date.
Tamagotchi translates to ‘Egg Watch’ in Japan. After you activate the device, an egg will appear on the screen, and will later hatch into your new ‘pet’. Using the buttons on the device, you can feed your pet, play with it, train it, and even clean its poop. You have to take regular care of your pet, otherwise it can die. For example, if you don’t clean up its poop, it can die from sickness. You can also potty train your pet so that it doesn’t make a mess each and every time.
