Ballots went out this week for 2021 baseball Hall of Fame balloting. Does Charlie Hustle belong in Cooperstown?
Pete Rose mostly played for the Cincinnati Reds, a team that he also managed after retiring. There is no doubt that Rose is an exceptional baseball player. He holds the MLB records for hits (4,256), at-bats (14,053), games played (3,562), singles (3,215), and outs (10,328).
The only thing between Rose and the Hall of Fame is his permanent ineligibility from baseball due to accusations of gambling on baseball while playing or managing his team. In 2004, Rose himself admitted to the wrongdoings. Since the Baseball Hall of Fame bars anyone that is on the “permanently ineligible” list, Pete Rose will not be entering Cooperstown anytime soon.
